In addition, sports like swimming, cycling and running stimulates the production of specific enzymes to remove bad cholesterol from the blood to the liver, where cholesterol is processed to be thrown out of the body.

Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that disciplining the body and mind. Yoga has been used for centuries as a form of therapeutic treatment. Some research also suggests that yoga can be used to help reduce cholesterol and triglycerides.

There are only a few studies have examined the effectiveness of yoga to decrease cholesterol, but the results are promising acknowledged. In some cases, total cholesterol was reduced by 30%. Low-density lipoprotein (LDL), or bad cholesterol levels reduced between 14% and 35%. On the other hand, the effectiveness of yoga in increasing high density lipoproteins (HDL), or good cholesterol and triglycerides were quite varied. In some studies, HDL increased by nearly 12%. And in another study, triglycerides slightly affected.

3.  Tai Chi

Tai Chi is now a popular sport for those who cannot move too freely because of illness or old age. Tai Chi performed by the slow movement with breathing techniques and focused mind creates a calming effect, but refreshing. Although technically considered a martial art, Tai Chi is also recommended for people who are interested in exercising and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
